We are looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our engineering team. The Site Reliability Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of Talkspace's agentic behavioral health platform. They leverage strong technical skills to build and evolve systems with a focus on client confidentiality. Additionally, they play a key role in maintaining live services by implementing effective monitoring and measurement strategies. The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will stay informed of industry trends and share valuable insights with the team, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement. They actively participate in on-call duties, serving as an escalation contact for service incidents, and demonstrate a knack for process development through automation. With excellent communication skills, they collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to the development of efficient processes and documentation, ensuring effective teamwork and system reliability.To work at Talkspace, you need to be as passionate as we are about our work, and excited to partner with us on delivering quality mental healthcare.

This is a hybrid position. Talkspace Headquarters is located in NYC.

What You’ll Do

  • Technical Skills
    • Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of critical systems and applications.
    • Build and evolve systems using best practices to ensure client confidentiality.
    • Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring their availability, performance, and overall health.
    • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, share knowledge with the team, and contribute to the professional development of colleagues.
  • Process Development
    • Share on-call duties with the team and be an escalation contact for service incidents.
    • Proactively design efficient processes and automate tedious tasks.
  • Communication
    • Effectively and concisely communicate complex technical topics to peers.
    • Respectfully voice alternative solutions in the architecture and design process.
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation for system architecture, procedures, and best practices.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Work with engineering teams to improve how they design, develop, deliver, and evolve Talkspace services, to improve their availability, scalability, and performance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

About You

  • BA/BS or MA/MS in computer science or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2-5 years of experience administering cloud environments, including AWS, GCP
  • Experience administering cloud environment infrastructure as code
  • Experience with orchestration tools, such as Kubernetes, ECS
  • Demonstrable knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTPS, application security, monitoring, and storage.
  • Experience managing applications such as MySQL, Postgres, Redis, Redshift and DNS.
  • Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis, and software design.
  • Experience developing production code.

Compensation

At Talkspace, we believe that pay transparency during the interview process is a critical part of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our salary bands are based on internal and external compensation benchmarks, which we regularly evaluate to ensure we pay competitively.

The base salary range for this role is between $88,000 - $131,000. Within the salary bands, leveling corresponds to each candidate’s relevant experience, skills as assessed during the interview process, education, and applicable certifications.
