We are looking for an experienced Senior Health Information Release Specialist to join our Compliance team. We are looking for someone who has experience in this field and wants to bring their talents into a “for purpose” space. *This is a remote position based on Eastern Time. Talkspace Headquarters is located in NYC*

What You’ll Do

  • Release of Information
    • Process internal/external requests for medical records
    • Locate and arrange delivery of medical records to the requester
    • Use proprietary systems to locate identifiers and process documents
    • Review documentation in the proprietary platform to determine if all information is complete and accurate
    • Log and track work in a database tracking system and communicate any issues with the management team
    • Communicate with providers to ensure medical documentation is complete and accurate
    • Retrieve documentation from third party portals; communicate with third party vendors as necessary to ensure complete and accurate document retrieval
    • Independently organize and prioritize time to provide full medical record availability to customers and complete all related tasks
    • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all HIPAA, confidentiality and compliance regulations, rules, guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Customer Service
    • Log and track work in a database tracking system and communicate any issues with the management team
    • Communicate with providers to ensure medical documentation is complete and accurate
  • Program Support
    • Actively participate in process improvement, engagement, department,
      staff, and other work meetings/teams
    • Fully complete logs and departmental documentation
  • Auditor Duties
    • Monitors daily work assignments, and adjusts tasks based on priorities
    • Performs quality reviews and monitoring of the processing of medical records
    • Reports findings, potential issues and trends to the supervisor, as required
    • Perform chart reviews to ensure that documentation meets payor needs for medical necessity, coding support and treatment planning
    • Develops workflows and provides ongoing training
    • Assists in focused audits, training, and re-training, providing objective reporting on individual progress and proficiencies

About You

  • General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School Diploma required
  • Knowledge of and experience with conflict resolution techniques and problem analysis/resolution skills preferred
  • Experience in working with valid authorization forms with patients, legal authorized representatives, attorneys, and court systems
  • 5+ years of experience in relevant positions
  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) OR
    Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)

Compensation

At Talkspace, we believe that pay transparency during the interview process is a critical part of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our salary bands are based on internal and external compensation benchmarks, which we regularly evaluate to ensure we pay competitively.


The base salary range for this role is between $42,000 and $52,000. Within the salary bands, leveling corresponds to each candidate’s relevant experience, skills as assessed during the interview process, education, and applicable certifications.
