Senior Marketing Manager
Marketing & Communications
Seoul, South Korea
Now is a great time to join Taboola! We are looking for a smart, driven, and strategic Senior Marketing Manager to support the growth targets for the North Asia region. Taboola’s Korea team is a dynamic and fast-paced unit of the business. We have exclusive and long-term partnerships with leading publishers including The Chosun, The JoongAng, and Maekyung Media Group, and our advertisers include major brand names like Samsung, LG, Hyundai Motor Group, and Kakao Pay.
The Role
The Senior Marketing Manager role is a full-time position sitting within the APAC Marketing Team. In this elevated role, you will hold strategic responsibility for both the Korea and Japan markets. While you will not have direct reports, you will act as the strategic lead for Japan, working collaboratively with a Japan Marketing Coordinator who will assist in executing the local strategy you create.
This role requires a candidate who can balance high-level regional planning with hands-on collaboration across different teams, including Korea and Japan Sales, Marketing Operations, Content Marketing, and Design. This position offers the creativity and flexibility to define Taboola’s growth trajectory in two of our most important markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Regional Strategy: Collaborate with Sales leadership in Seoul and Tokyo to develop quarterly marketing strategies and plans for Korea and Japan to drive business growth and maximize long-term ROI.
- Japan Market Oversight: Design the marketing roadmap for Japan and work closely with the Japan Marketing Coordinator to ensure the successful execution of your strategy.
- Budget Management: Build and manage the marketing budgets for both regions, finding resourceful ways to optimize impact and efficiency.
- Event Leadership: Own both sponsored (e.g., Digital Marketing Summit, other industry events) and hosted (e.g., agency roadshows) events across both markets, from coordinating operations to creating impactful content that drives leads.
- Retention & Advocacy: Plan and execute customer retention activities, including high-touch client entertainment events and bespoke gifting strategies.
- Data-Driven Reporting: Translate regional activities into meaningful data and reports using platforms like Salesforce and QlikSense to demonstrate marketing impact.
- PR & Communications: Drive PR efforts in collaboration with local agencies, turning Taboola’s proprietary data into compelling stories for press pick-up in both Korea and Japan.
- Localization: Oversee the localization of global content into Korean and Japanese, ensuring messaging is culturally relevant and fits the specific needs of each market.
- Product Representation: Maintain a deep understanding of Taboola’s product positioning and unique offering to effectively represent the company to diverse external audiences.
Requirements
- Bilingual Skills: Native or fluent in Korean and English. Proficiency in Japanese is a strong plus but not required, as you will be supported by a local coordinator in Japan.
- Experience: 8+ years in B2B marketing, with at least 1+ years in a senior or lead strategic capacity within the AdTech, SaaS, or Digital Media space.
- Strategic Leadership: Proven ability to create comprehensive marketing plans and lead the "dotted-line" execution of those plans through partners or coordinators.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Korean and English.
- Problem Solver: Creative self-starter with a solution-oriented mindset and high attention to detail.
- Autonomy: Comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy and managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Global Collaboration: Experienced in working with remote, international teams and managing stakeholders across different cultures and time zones. Working closely with the sales organisation as their main stakeholder to drive commercial outcomes will be essential.
